The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI)

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is a leading business-driven initiative for companies committed to improving working conditions in the global supply chain.

Knittex Industries Ltd. completed an audit by BSCI from 2011 onwards. The report is available on the BSCI website for DBID - 25883.

Knitex Industries believes in fair and ethical practices throughout our operations. As a BSCI-certified company, we prioritize workers' rights, fair wages, and safe working conditions for all involved in our production processes. By adhering to BSCI standards, we demonstrate our commitment to creating a positive impact on the lives of our workers and communities.

Knittex was awarded the GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD (GOTS).

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA)

In accordance with the guideline of Bangladesh Labour Law 2006, BGMEA, in association with GTZ, has given Knittex Industries Ltd. a grade A score.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is the apex trade body that represents the export oriented woven knit and sweater garment manufacturers and exporters of the country. The fundamental objective of BGMEA is to establish a healthy business environment for a close and mutually beneficial relationship between the manufacturers, exporters and importers in the process ensuring a steady growth in the foreign exchange earnings of the country.

BKMEA

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA) has given Knittex Industries Ltd. an "A" grade, which is the highest in their rating system.

Knittex Industries Ltd. is registered at the Sedex website and have successfully met the requirements of the SMETA audit.

Sedex is a membership organisation for businesses committed to continuous improvement of the ethical performance of their supply chains. Sedex enables member companies to efficiently manage the ethical and responsible practices of their global supply chains, generating transparency through the provision of a data exchange.

Knittex is a part of Accord since 2014 with ongoing developments every year.

The Accord is an independent, legally binding agreement between brands and trade unions designed to work towards a safe and healthy Bangladeshi Ready-Made Garment Industry. The purpose is to enable a working environment in which no worker needs to fear fires, building collapses, or other accidents that could be prevented with reasonable health and safety measures.

This certification is now carried out by the BGMEA through the RSC (RMG sustainability council).

RMG Sustainability Council (RSC)

As a member of the RMG Sustainability Council, Knitex Industries is committed to promoting sustainability within the ready-made garment industry. We follow ethical manufacturing processes, provide safe working conditions, and ensure social compliance across our supply chain. This certification reflects our dedication to transparency and responsible business practices.

Knittex Industries Ltd. successfully met all the criteria required for this standard and received their authorization from 2011 onwards.

Knitted fabrics made of 100% organic cotton (GMO not detectable), 100% cotton and mixtures with polyester, viscose and elastane, white, yarn dyed or piece dyed (in a limited range of 11 reactive and 6 disperse dyestuffs) and finished. including grey mélange yarn and ash mélange yarn in cotton/viscose, rubber printed (in a limited range of 4 pigments) (based on material partly pre-certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®

Knitted T-shirt, polo shirt, vest, short & long pants, nightwear, pyjama and tank top made of 100% organic cotton (GMO not detectable), 100% cotton and mixtures with polyester, viscose and elastane, white, yarn dyed or piece dyed (in a limited range of 11 reactive and 6 disperse dyestuffs) and finished, including grey mélange yarn and ash mélange yarn in cotton/viscose, rubber printed (in a limited range of 4 pigments); including accessories (interlining, printed & woven label, sewing & embroidery thread, zipper, PES button, tape and elastic tape) (based on material partly pre-certified certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®)

As a part of the Better Cotton Initiative, Knitex Industries supports sustainable cotton production practices worldwide. We source our cotton responsibly, promoting water efficiency, reduced pesticide usage, and fair labor practices. By using Better Cotton, we contribute to the global movement towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly textile industry.

Cotton made in Africa

At Knitex Industries, we embrace the Cotton made in Africa certification to support African cotton farmers and promote sustainable farming practices in the region. By sourcing cotton from this initiative, we empower local communities and contribute to preserving the environment while ensuring the quality of our products.
